Personal experience has shown them that Minnesotan’s have a difficult time telling others when they have done something that deserves positive feedback for fear the receiver will get a ”big head”.

Corey and Jerilyn have talked to hundreds of Minnesota transplants and heard a similar refrain. Minnesota nice has surface veneer of politeness but also comes with a strong aversion or unwillingness to give or ask for constructive feedback (AKA “assertiveness).
